Week 53!
Did you know there is a week 53 – It applies to employees that are paid weekly, fortnightly or every 4 weeks and is necessary if you are to get the wages correct at the end of the financial year.
Your payroll system should inform you if you will need to run a week 53 and should give you instructions on how to do this. Please note that depending on the amount working days in a year you may not have to file a week 53 every year.
If you do need to run a week 53 remember to add this into the ‘tax week number field’ of your FPS
- 53’ if you pay your employees weekly
- ‘54’ if you pay them fortnightly
- ‘56’ if you pay them every 4 weeks
